1:00pm - 1:55pm University to Workplace: Connecting competency based education to talent acquisition
Thursday May 25 - Redbud A
The repetition of reports throughout the years on the lack of student readiness for the workplace, competencies missing for job success and retention, and an awakening on the role of an institution's career center has led to the revitalization of talent development on college campuses. This panel includes career directors from across the State who will discuss what has been happening on campuses to connect employers with competency based education, develop students along a new model of career competencies created by the National Association of Colleges & Employers, and re-energize higher education around new partnerships and collaborations with industry to ensure viable and valuable connections.
