2019 Oncology Update: A Symposium for Primary Care Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers

Followed by reception and tour of Inova Schar Cancer Institute 2-3 p.m.
This half day symposium will serve as an update on a range of cancer care topics including screening guidelines for commonly treated cancers; evaluating individual cancer genetic risk and procedure for genetic testing; survivorship goals for cancer patients treated with a multi-disciplinary approach and updates in oncology.

List the recommended guidelines for screening patients for breast, colon, prostate and lung cancer.
Recognize common cancer survivorship issues, including coping with risk of recurrence, chronic side effects of treatment, chronic pain.
Identify the indicators and management of common toxicities related to cancer immunotherapy and targeted therapy.
Determine how to effectively manage cancer survivors diet, exercise and stress along with improved collective care among personal oncology team
