    PANEL 1

Next-Generation Computing Systems for Climate Change Research

    Abstract

The complexity and rapid growth of environmental and climate data presents challenges for technology infrastructure and the development of new computing systems for climate change research. These systems enable data access, discovery, and modeling at scale, and the development of climate adaptation and mitigation solutions. In this panel, we will discuss the technical obstacles, key constructs, and current efforts towards the development of these systems for collaboration and scientific discovery in multi-compute environments.

Moderator: Ian Foster, Argonne National Laboratory
