Question: Can I bring my friend who isn't/wasn't a corps member? |
Answer: Yes! This event is open to Teach for America corps members, alumni, and staff, as well as educators, community members and partners beyond the organization. |
Question: Even if they aren't a self-identified member of the LGBTQ+ community? |
Answer: Absolutely. Teach For America Brave Education Summits welcome self-identified LGBTQ+ folks and their allies. |
Question: What's included in my registration amount? |
Answer: The registration fee covers the cost of all sessions and social events attended during the summit, and some meals. More logistical information will be shared closer to the event, but plan to cover your dinner as well as meals on travel days. |
Question: What should I bring with me during sessions? |
Answer: Notetaking devices, water bottle, and any other personal items you might need. While most sessions should be accessible without the use of technology, we strongly encourage you to bring a laptop or tablet if possible. |
Question: How should I dress? |
Answer: We like to say "come as you are!" Snappy casual or business casual wear (that includes jeans) is encouraged, as well as a jacket since room temperatures vary. |
Question: What hashtags should I use? Answer: #BraveEducation is used by attendees of all of our national and regional summits, and #BraveEdDFW18 is specific to the Dallas-Fort Worth Summit. Be sure to share Facebook and use the hashtags! |
