2020 Donald W. McCarthy Heartland Leadership Forum
September 28th, 2020 McNamara Alumni Center Minneapolis, MN
The USNA Alumni Association has been carefully monitoring the public health concerns surrounding COVID-19 in relation to the 4th Annual Heartland Leadership Forum. The safety and well-being of our attendees, sponsors and employees is a top priority. After further consideration, we have the made the decision to postpone the event until Monday, September 28, 2020.
The good news is the date change will be the only adjustment. The event will still take place at McNamara Alumni Center and attendees will still have the chance to hear Admiral Mike Rogers speak on leadership for our rapidly expanding digital world. We remain cautiously optimistic that in the months leading up to the Forum, the virus will be better understood and contained. Of course, we will continue to monitor the situation and share any new developments as necessary.

About the Heartland Leadership Forum
Each year, the Upper Midwest Chapter of the USNA Alumni Association hosts the Donald W. McCarthy Heartland Leadership Forum, an inspiring evening that unites leaders of today and tomorrow with living legends who’ve gone before. If you’re a leader in any sector (corporate, public, government), a student aspiring to lead, or a Naval Academy graduate, this public event is for you!
The Heartland Leadership Forum was named in honor of Minnesota’s own Donald W. McCarthy, a graduate with the Naval Academy’s Class of 1944 who served in both World War II and the Korean War. He then climbed the corporate ladder with Northern States Power (now Xcel Energy) to become Chairman and CEO. During his illustrious career, Don also led many community organizations that helped to shape the Twin Cities to become the vibrant business and social community it is today.
