***A LATISM'16 Conference Team Member!*** LATISM16's Lead Point of Contact (POC) for all of our STEAM Workshops this year is one of our best LATISM community members, Olga Noriega. An amazing supporter of LATISM and strong supporter of STEAM she is available for all participants wanting direction about where our five (5) STEAM workshops are located and what they are all about. She comes to us from the Regional Alliance of Students and Professionals and we are honored to have her as our distinguished STEAM16 POC. About Olga Olga Noriega has been working as an educator for almost 20 years. She is a strong advocate for implementing school reform initiatives that increase student achievement, encourage parental and community involvement. She is a catalyst for creative engagement and collaborative learning. Olga is a passionate grass roots community organizer for her church, La Luz Del Mundo. She collaborated in establishing a nonprofit organization that is now 1000-members strong; Regional Alliance of Students and Professionals, RASP. The organization raises awareness, educates, and empowers Latino students to pursue and attain higher education; always encouraging them to put their profession at the service of their community. RASP, was founded in Washington, DC and has now grown to 19 other states throughout the country, including the State of Maryland. Her outreach within the DMV metropolitan area has been extensive touching thousands of lives. Her advocacy work and expertise has led her to organize conferences that have held over 500 Latino students at a time. As a result, she has seen students graduate from college who give credit to RASP for having influenced and encouraged them to become professionals and not give up. She has worked in collaboration with many other organizations, Olga has been recognized, in DMV area for services and dedication to the community.
