Certified Financial Planner™ is the Founder & CEO of Financially Wise Women, a Los Angeles-based financial planning firm for women, as well as a Chase financial education partner. She specializes in working with busy professional and entrepreneurial women who are passionate about life and want to gain clarity around their money. Ms. Castro partners with her clients to create an actionable financial plan that simplifies their financial lives allowing them more time to do what they love most. Brittney’s mission is to help women plan and create the life of their dreams, free from anxiety about money. Born and raised in Cerritos, California, Brittney was instilled with a strong sense of giving back to the community by observing her father, a Los Angeles Police Department officer, and her stay at home mother, a philanthropist, volunteering at various organizations. Brittney’s financial training began in high school while working multiple jobs. She quickly learned that her money should work as hard for her as she was working for it and she started to invest on her own. Continuing her fascination with finance, she attended the University of California, Santa Barbara graduating with a Bachelors’ Degree in Business Economics and a minor in Sports Management. Ms. Castro began her career at Ameriprise Financial, renowned in the industry for their financial planning training. It was there she worked with a senior partner and excelled as a financial advisor, developing a keen ability to analyze and solve problems for clients and mastering intricate financial planning strategies. In 2011, Brittney received the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation from the CFP Board of Standards. The CFP® designation is a mark of distinction for the individuals who have met the education, examination, experience and ethics standards established by the Certified Financial Planners Board of Standards (CFP Board). She also maintains her designations as a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and Accredited Asset Management Specialist. In 2013, Brittney took the next step by starting her own financial firm, Financially Wise Women, which is a registered investment adviser, offering advisory services in the State of California. Ms. Castro has become a well-known financial expert for women of all ages; and has earned national media recognition from CNN, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, CBS, KTLA, Fox 11 News, Glamour, Elle, Marie Claire, Financial Planning Magazine, Investment News, Registered Rep Magazine and many more. Away from the office, you can find Brittney working out, drinking coffee or a green smoothie, playing at the park with her dog Arya and of course, dancing.
