Gary Kesner is Executive Vice President of Silvercup Studios, one of New York’s largest, full-service film, television and commercial production facilities. Silvercup’s affiliate, Silvertrucks, provides location lighting services in the metropolitan area. Mr. Kesner supervises operations, administrative, legal and financial affairs for the companies. Silvercup is currently home to such television series as Girls, Elementary, Younger and Madam Secretary and served as the production venue for such classic productions as 30 Rock, The Sopranos and Sex & The City. Silvercup North, Silvercup’s third facility, is currently being developed in The Bronx. Adding 115,000 square feet to Silvercup’s portfolio, Silvercup North will have the tallest sound stages in New York. Mr. Kesner is also actively engaged in Silvercup Properties real estate development efforts. Silvercup Properties is now building The Harrison, a 120 unit residential condominium in Long Island City. Mr. Kesner is currently Chair of the Board of Directors of the Long Island City Long Island City Partnership. He is also the Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Queens Theatre in the Park, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Long Island City Business Improvement District, the Mt. Sinai Queens Hospital Business Advisory Board and the Board of Trustees of Temple Beth El of Great Neck. Mr. Kesner previously enjoyed a successful career in the public sector specializing in economic development. He was appointed Commissioner of the New York City Office of Business Development by Mayor Edward I. Koch in 1986, and served in that position until 1990. Among his other positions in the economic development arena, he was Executive Vice President of the New York City Public Development Corporation and Executive Vice President of the Financial Services Corporation of New York City Mr. Kesner is a Member of the Bar of the State of New York. He received his Bachelors in Political Science from the City College of the City University of New York and earned his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School. He is also a graduate of the Harvard University Kennedy School Senior Executives in State and Local Government program.
