Brian Shepherd is currently the Chief Operating Officer for the Colorado Broadband Office within the State of Colorado Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) where he is responsible for developing a statewide, comprehensive broadband strategy to ensure all Coloradan’s have access to broadband technology. Additionally, Mr. Shepherd is the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the FirstNet initiative working to develop Colorado’s plan for the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network. Prior to joining OIT Mr. Shepherd spent eight years in public safety as the deputy director of the Adams County Communications Center (ADCOM911) where he managed one of the initial seven public safety LTE BTOP Pilot Projects. Prior to his public service Brian spent 10 years working in the software development sector developing web-based technologies for a variety of industries. Mr. Shepherd served on the FCC’s Technical Advisory Board for First Responder Interoperability and is a past chair of the Colorado 9-1-1 Task Force. Mr. Shepherd has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Systems from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Colorado, Denver.
