In addition to being a practicing emergency physician, I am currently Vice Chair for research in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. I am PD/PI of the NINDS-funded Neurologic Emergency Treatment Trials (NETT) and Strategies to Innovate EmeRgENcy Care Clinical Trials Network (SIREN), a hub-spoke collaborative to conduct acute care research on neurologic, heart, lung, blood and trauma emergencies extending from the greater Philadelphia area across Pennsylvania and the tri-state area and New York. My primary research interest is the study of diabetes in stroke; and, I serve as the PI of the multi-center study to address the relationships between procoagulation in diabetes and stroke outcomes.
