Jesse Hagopian is one of the most prominent teacher leaders of the anti-standardized testing movement. Jesse teaches Ethnic Studies at Seattle’s Garfield High School and is a member of the Social Equity Educators. He is an editor for Rethinking Schools magazine and the Seattle Education Fellow to The Progressive magazine. Jesse is the co-editor of the book, Teaching for Black Lives, and editor of the book, More Than a Score: The New Uprising Against High-Stakes Testing. Jesse was the recipient of the 2013 “Secondary School Teacher of Year” award from the Academy of Education Arts and Sciences.
