2016 marks our 3rd annual national conference on public education. This year we head to Raleigh, North Carolina, where public schools, teachers, and students have been under attack in recent years. However, North Carolinians aren't having any of it - they're pushing back. From grassroots parent groups to teachers to the Moral Mondays Movement, everyday people are fighting for their children, schools, and community.
We'll hear from exciting keynote speakers such as NPE Founder Diane Ravitch, the Rev. William Barber, and Bob Herbert. Workshops will be run by activists doing the work and cover a range of issues as we address our theme: "And Justice for All: Strengthening Public Education for Each Child." You'll walk away with plans for action in your community, a wealth of information, a network of supporters, and the energy to hit the ground running when you return home.
