Welcome to the The Nordic World Heritage Conference 2023, hosted by Vatnajökull National Park in Kirkjubæjarklaustur. We are looking forward to introducing you to our nature, as well as sharing interesting keynotes, seminars, and workshops through our three days of conference.
The topic for this year´s conference is „Community and cooperation – In line with nature“. Together we will explore the United Nations sustainable goal number 8, on economic growth. We will especially target number 8.9 on sustainable tourism focusing on local values and produce as well as different ways to manage the challenges with tourism and local interests.
We highly recommend that you take the time to spend two extra days in Iceland, since you are already here, and join in on the pre- and post-tours to the highlands for an once in a lifetime opportunity to get a closer view of the area.
