Orange County STEM Goes Red
We Are Live In
About the Event
In order to advance research and awareness for women’s heart health, the American Heart Association recognizes the pressing need for more women pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering & math. During these unique and uncertain times, we are excited to expand the reach of our event and bring STEM Goes Red to any school in Orange County, as well as include both young men and women, by hosting our first STEM Goes Red Digital Experience. Thank you for being a part of our Annual STEM Goes Red! This program is all about YOU. We want you to have an open mind, dream big and know that you have the power to be who you want and do what you want as you grow up. We’re here to provide resources and encouragement to you, whatever your path may be. Did you know that although women fill close to half of all jobs in the U.S., we hold less than 25% of STEM jobs? And for every 100 female bachelors’ students, just 12 graduate with STEM majors and only three continue to work in STEM fields. Through this partnership, we want to show you all the career possibilities in STEM fields – we think you’ll be surprised! The next great medical breakthrough might even be made by someone in this room. Go Red for Women is all about empowering women to take charge of their health and their future. Heart disease kills one in three women, but 80% of heart disease is preventable. You must start educating yourself and making healthy habits a priority NOW, so that you can explore these amazing careers as you move to the next phase of your life. And we need you to be role models for the younger generation! We hope you learn a little more about STEM careers and realize all the potential you have!
