Dear CUTRIC-CRITUC Members and Canadian electricity utility stakeholders, CUTRIC-CRITUC’s National Power Providers Transit Electrification Working Group (“Power Providers Working Group”) has been formed to identify and overcome technology and policy challenges impeding the widespread introduction of high-powered and low-powered charging stations for electric buses across Canada. The initiative is now being extended to assess utility opportunities and challenges in hydrogen fuelling innovation for hydrogen fuel cell propulsion systems in transit and coach applications, as well. CUTRIC Members, especially its electric and natural gas utility members, are invited to attend the Power Providers Working Group: Technical Planning Session #8 as we further seek to work towards our goal of supporting utilities in developing an internal transit electrification strategy. We look forward to welcoming you to this national integration effort aimed at disrupting the utility and transit industries to support ubiquitous, standardized, interoperable, low-cost and low-carbon transit electrification technologies across Canada.
