Dr John Emerson holds a PhD from the University of Adelaide and a DEA from the University of Paris. He is the author of two legal histories and a judicial biography. In 2009 he established the University of Adelaide Press, which was launched by Nobel literature laureate, J M Coetzee. The Press has since published around 70 books and achieved over a million readers in the electronic editions. Over 80% of these electronic edition readers are outside Australia, demonstrating the benefits of digital dissemination.
