The Tender X-ray Instrument (TXI) is a unique instrument at LCLS, it is one of the few instruments covering the “tender X-ray range”, the 2 to 7 keV photon energy range. Additionally, TXI is the only FEL instrument in the world that plans to overlap X-rays from two separate undulator sources for X-ray pump/ X-ray probe experiments. The TXI team plans to commission its tender spectroscopy endstation during run 22 with user experiments scheduled in run 23. The TXI’s forward scattering endstation is to be commissioned late run 23 with user science expected in run 24. It will provide the first high repetition rate imaging capabilities at LCLS. This workshop is to discuss TXI’s planned capabilities and early scientific capabilities of the forward scattering endstation. One of the goals of this workshop is to gather feedback from the LCLS user community to maximize the scientific capabilities and output of the instrument.
