Today’s economy and tomorrow’s wellbeing depend on innovations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, the four fields collectively known as STEM. Of 100 female students working toward a bachelor’s degree, only three will work in a STEM job 10 years after graduation.
STEM Goes Red is more than just a one day event. We want to make a lasting impact on the lives of female identifying students throughout Southern Arizona by including a mentorship program. The objectives for this mentorship program is to engage young women, increase the number of women pursing STEM degrees, close the equality gap in STEM jobs, and to arm female identifying students with tools and resources to experience good health and wellbeing.
We are going to achieve the objectives by building meaningful engagement opportunities providing students, mentors, parents, and teachers opportunities to connect; creating an elevated and engaging experience that brings young women together; showing impact an building connections through stories of local students, mentors, parents, and teachers; engaging companies, leadership, and community organizations to create true community transformation.
If you are interested in participating in the mentorship program, please complete the interest form below.
