Ethnic Studies Workshop Series: Stand-Alone Course
About the Event
This workshop is intended to provide pedagogical support for teachers considering a Stand-Alone course for Ethnic Studies within a singular academic content area. Overarching domains, themes, core discipline groups, ley terms, and applied learning practices will be discussed in the context of instructional clarity, coherence, and correspondence. Examples of available unit and lesson plan templates, CA Educators Together resource hub, University of CA, A-G approval, scholarly resources, and instructional schemas for ethnic studies will be reviewed. Participants will also be provided with opportunities to present their best practices used for the development of an ethnic studies course. Who Should Attend? Ethnics Studies teacher leads, high school classroom teachers, and administrators involved in the development of an Ethnic Studies course to meet the AB 101 Initial Course Pilot in the 2025-2026 school year.
