"Fred Franko is the Workforce Education Coordinator at the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. Fred leads and manages education initiatives impacting workforce issues, with the objective of enhancing Colorado's economic vitality. To accomplish this, Fred interacts with Workforce Development Program staff, across the Colorado Workforce System, and with the Colorado education community, including state secondary, and postsecondary agencies. Fred also works collaboratively with the Colorado Workforce Development Council to advance Career Pathways and Sector Partnerships. Fred has experience across education and public policy. In education, he provided counseling in college admissions and financial aid at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He also led research and program planning and development for a national higher education organization. He has consulted in the education areas of early childhood and afterschool programs. In public policy, Fred managed transportation issues for a regional business organization and directed public policy for a national health care organization, overseeing their public policy efforts across the country.
