This year #VitaeCon2025 is set to take place both online and in-person on the following dates:
Online on Wednesday 10 September and Thursday 11 September, 09:30-15:30 on both days
In-person at We The Curious, Bristol, UK on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 September
The Vitae Impact, Culture and Engagement (ICE) Awards will take place on Monday 22 September during the Conference Gala Dinner at the Harbour Hotel Bristol, UK.
This year, we have separate themes for the online element and in-person element of the conference.
Online element
Rethinking ‘the researcher’: personal and professional values in focus
The Vitae Researcher Development Framework 2025 places the researcher at the heart of the development framework, emphasising that professional development starts with the researcher themselves. To coincide with the full launch of the Vitae RDF 2025, the online conference takes the nine key personal and professional values and behaviours identified as central to the Vitae RDF 2025 as its focus.
In-person element
Reimagining research careers: navigating changing landscapes
Significant progress has been made in researcher development and research culture globally, driven by a committed international community dedicated to seizing opportunities for positive change for researchers and institutions across diverse contexts.
The research ecosystem faces significant collective challenges that impact our ability to maintain momentum in ensuring that careers in research—across all sectors—are open, rewarding, and inclusive.
Our global strategy for 2025-2030 outlines three priorities to support the international research community in overcoming these challenges and maximising opportunities for positive change.
