to leverage the opportunities of the new manufacturing renaissance.
Background:
• Part of the New York Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) mission to develop, manage and invest in New York City.
• Started in 2011 for new ventures from major international regions, countries or cities.
• In 2014 the NYCEDC partnered with New York International and expanded the program to include US and international ventures in key industries, engage champions based in New York and provide input.
Objectives:
1. Creating job opportunities by showing the unique strength of New York City in New Manufacturing - driven by 3D printing and the Internet of Things as well as the emerging sharing and collaborating economy.
2. Fostering a discussion about future opportunities as well as challenges for this sector in order to stay ahead.
3. Convening some of the most amazing thinkers and makers, investors and enablers, media and opinion leaders for the benefit of all involved: the visiting companies, the supporting partners and advisors, and New York and its citizen as a whole.
