Risk & Return: Longevity
December 6, 2018
THE LINE D.C.
8-10AM
About the Event
The global population is aging rapidly — by 2050 the number of people age 80 or over is expected to triple, to nearly half a billion. Longer lifespans will put massive pressure on retirement savings, health care, housing, transportation, and cities. Not many companies are good at serving older consumers; that will have to change. Please join Katherine Bell, Editor-in-Chief of Barron's, and Joseph F. Coughlin, founder and director of the MIT AgeLab, for a breakfast discussion of the radical ways our retirements will change as we live significantly longer, as well as the opportunities longevity presents for companies and investors. About Risk & Return
Risk & Return is the debut series for Barron’s Live that will take a pragmatic, hopeful look at the radical changes and systemic risks facing companies and the global economy. In each session, experts will quantify the scope of a particular challenge and explore its potential long-term consequences. Then we’ll discuss the opportunities it presents for companies and investors — not only to gain financially, but to find and fund solutions and make a measurable positive difference. Panelists will include a Barron’s editor, an expert and two investors.
