Turning Genetic Insights into Action: Advancing Precision Care in Gastrointestinal Cancers

    Tuesday, November 3, 2026
    7:00 AM - 7:45 AM MT
CGA-IGC Annual Meeting | Hilton Denver City Center, Denver Ballroom

2026 CGA-IGC ANNUAL MEETING BREAKFAST SEMINAR

As recommendations for universal genetic testing continue to expand in gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, multidisciplinary teams face increasing opportunities to incorporate genetic insights into patient care. This seminar will highlight the role of germline genetic testing across the GI cancer continuum, from surgical planning to systemic treatment selection and emerging molecular residual disease approaches.

Through expert perspectives from colorectal surgery and medical oncology, attendees will gain practical insights into how germline and somatic testing can work together to inform precision care. The discussion will address common implementation barriers and explore strategies for improving adoption of universal testing recommendations in clinical practice.

    Learning Objectives:

    • Describe how hereditary cancer genetic testing and tumor genomic profiling influences treatment and management decisions for patients with gastrointestinal cancers.
    • Apply strategies for integrating germline and somatic testing into multidisciplinary GI cancer care, addressing barriers to implementation of universal testing recommendations and improving access to timely testing.

Breakfast and beverages will be provided. This event is exclusively for registered 2026 CGA-IGC Annual Meeting attendees.

*This seminar is supported by Myriad Genetics through a marketing grant. Not CME-accredited.

    LIMITED SEATING. RSVP NOW.
