Michelle Craven is the Assistant Commissioner for Cityscape & Franchises at the New York City Department of Transportation. With more than ten years of experience at NYC DOT, she oversees numerous programs with a primary focus on private use of the public right-of-way, including: Citi Bike and the Bronx e-scooter pilots; the Coordinated Street Furniture Franchise; Franchises, Concessions, and Revocable Consents; Land Use Review; Open Restaurants; and Urban Design. Prior to joining NYC DOT, she worked as an attorney in the New York City office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She holds a Master's in Urban and Regional Planning from the Luskin School of Public Affairs at the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center.
