Chris Young serves as the Vice President, New Virtual Market Development & Incubations for Ascension, the largest non-profit health system in the United States. In this role, he leads innovation, development and deployment of virtual care programs, and incubations of new offerings for the 141 hospital system and its subsidiaries. Young is responsible for coordination of Ascension’s digital strategy and moving the organization toward person-centered capabilities that empower consumers across the healthcare ecosystem. This includes access and transparency strategies that aid consumers in navigating the healthcare landscape. He leads and sponsors multiple innovation efforts that range from enterprise-wide programs that have the promise of disruptive innovation to incremental innovations that are developed by individual Associates. Young is also a proponent for the advancement and practical application of genomics, blockchain and artificial intelligence in the healthcare ecosystem. Throughout his tenure at Ascension, Young has held a number of executive leadership positions in innovation, operations, and technology. Young is a catalyst for fast-track technology implementations and is a proven innovator within the healthcare industry. He is routinely sought after as a sounding board for new and innovative products and services from companies that range from small start-ups to the Fortune 100. Prior to joining Ascension, Young worked as a management consultant with several companies focusing on strategy, operations improvement, technology, and business development. Young holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Master of Science in Threat and Response Management from the University of Chicago.
