Everything you need to know to be prepared for WalkShops!

All 1,000 attendees leave our venue for tours of the area on foot, bike, metro, bus at 9:30am on Thursday, May 29 and Friday, May 30. Longer tours happen on Saturday, May 31. Please review all the details here in order to prepare.

Review Your Sign Ups

There are a few ways to sign up and review your sign ups. 

Download the conference app. Login using the email address you registered with. Click "Agenda" then "Registered" at the top to review. Filter for WalkShops under "All Sessions." To sign up, click the save a seat icon.

You can follow the same process on a web browser.

You can also click here to access your ticket details. Follow the prompts then click "Manage Sessions."

Important: If you can't make your WalkShop, please un-select it! This will enable someone else to go on the tour.

WalkShops by Bike

If you are on one of the WalkShops that uses bikes, it is essential that you have downloaded the app and loaded the promo code provided via email in advance of the tour. Check which app you need - either Capital Bikeshare/Lyft, Lime, or Veo - in the description of your tour. There will be helmets available on site for you to pick up on the mezzanine level.

Transit 

Make sure you have picked up your free 7-day transit pass courtesy of WMATA at registration on the mezzanine level. Many WalkShops use transit and you will need this.

What to Bring and Wear

Many WalkShops are quite active. We recommend wearing closed toe shoes and clothing that you're comfortable being active in. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen. Unless there is extreme weather with a threat to safety, WalkShops will occur rain or shine, so keep an eye on the forecast and bring weather-appropriate clothing and gear.

Review your meet up location, and plan to be there at least 15 minutes early

On Thursday, May 29 and Friday, May 30 WalkShops depart at 9:30am. Scroll down to see meet up locations. Plan to be at your meet up location at least 15 minutes early. Most tours, unless specified, will return by 12pm to the venue. On Saturday, tours begin and end at various times, so double check the agenda. All Saturday tours will meet in the mezzanine.

On Thursday and Friday, if you are on a WalkShop that is by bike, you will meet outside of the conerence venue on 10th St between Massachusetts Ave and K Street. On Saturday, you will meet in the mezzanine inside the venue.
