Tanmay Rao is the Founder and Executive Director of Ankhor, a student-led, social enterprise that leverages technology to provide free peer math tutoring for underserved KG-8 learners. Tanmay founded Ankhor in 2015 while a high school student, and has built an organization driven by the belief in student involvement and investment in the success of their peer communities. Ankhor currently has strategic partnerships with schools and organizations across several states and Washington D.C. , including some of the largest public school districts in the United States. Tanmay is currently focused on scaling impact driven by Ankhor's “Each One, Teach One” model. With the support of an operations management team comprised of university undergraduates based in the communities Ankhor serves, he actively leads the overall strategy for Ankhor including operations, communications, technical development and fundraising. Tanmay has been awarded the Herman Hollerith Prize for Entrepreneurship, honored with a Joint Honorary Resolution by the New Jersey State Legislature for his work with Ankhor, and is a recipient of the President's Volunteer Gold Medal, awarded by the White House. Tanmay is pursuing a B.A. in Economics at the University of Chicago.
