13. International congress of Person Centered Medicine
“Treatment and Care for Dementia through Person Centered Medicine ”

The 13th annual international congress on person centered medicine is being planned for by the International College of Person Centered Medicine in Reykjavik, Iceland in collaboration with the Icelandic Alzheimer Society and the Icelandic Medical Association. The main theme for this congress is “Person Centered Medicine and Care in Dementia.” The field of dementia is person centered in a different way from most other fields in medicine as the person in the center is progressively loosing cognitive abilities including his/her personality. The person centered approach thus needs to take into account the different stages of cognitive deterioration.
The congress will consist of three key lectures and eight sessions, each with 3-4 lectures and ample time for discussions.
There will be a space for posters but oral presentations are all planned for.
Most of the presenters have already been confirmed and in mid summer, an updated program with names of presenters and their presentations will be released.
The organizers might still make some limited changes to the program.
