Hubertus founded Prediki in 2010 to develop new ways to use predictions markets for market & social research. He has always been fascinated by the market mechanism and its uncanny informational powers: Before Prediki he founded brokerjet.com, an online stock market brokerage, which was acquired by Erste Bank AG in 2001. Later, he founded Redmonitor.com, the world's first digital options exchange, which was acquired by CMC Markets in 2008. (CMC Markets just IPO'ed on the LSE a month ago.) Inbetween, from 2001 to 2005, Hubertus was CEO and board member of Austria’s mobile telecom operator tele.ring. He is a university lecturer at the University of Economics in Vienna, as well as a frequent speaker and blogger on predictions and macroeconomics.
