Wanda Smith is the Executive Director of Native Horizons Treatment Centre located on the Mississauags of New Credit First Nation in Southern Ontario. Native Horizons is a residential facility dedicated to the healing of First Nation individuals struggling with addiction and mental health issues, often caused by the effects of colonization and multi-generational trauma. Wanda has forty years experience in the field of First Nation addictions; this year will mark her 30 th anniversary with Native Horizons. She has held other positions with the Federal Government, White Buffalo Youth Solvent Abuse Centre (Saskatchewan) and Northern College. She currently sits on many National and Regional Boards representing Ontario First Nations addiction workers. Wanda is of the Mohawk Nation, Six Nations of the Grand River Territory and of the Turtle clan. She is the proud and awe struck mother of a 23 year old son.
