In 2017 Viber formally introduced ads to its 800M users for the first time in the app history. By doing so the company made a transition from a 100% user centric vision to a more business oriented platform. Monetizing one of the biggest user bases on the globe has presented both challenges and opportunities and taught us a few important lessons.
