Transportation, a thread woven through all facets of our lives, is at the forefront of innovation. Transportation inequities are amplified by the lack of women building it, as women make up less than 15% of the transportation workforce, and even less at the CEO level. In order to ensure diverse solutions, we must have diverse voices at the table. Now more than ever, it is imperative to have the perspectives of women present in startups and innovation, including women of different races, ethnicities, ages, socio-economic status, and more. Women-led startups received only 2.8% of venture capital funding in 2019, and even less in 2020 - a mere 2.3%, according to Crunchbase. Most shocking, however, is that the 2.8% share was an all-time high. How can we unlock opportunities for women in innovation when funding is favored towards men?
Join this panel of female startup leaders at different stages of their journey to discuss the importance of female leadership in innovation and why we must continue to include the female perspective when developing new solutions in mobility.
