Gordon Parker is the Environmental Training & Projects Officer at Four Rivers Group. Gord has worked in the environmental field for over 10 years. His experience ranges from working in the mining, forestry, engineering, and fishery industries, to working with First Nations, Governments, and consultants across Canada. Gord has been with Four Rivers for over four years, working on providing environmental monitoring training, species at risk outreach, and multiple research projects on wolverine, birds, bats and sturgeon. Through such environmental programing, Gord has worked extensively with community educators and lands and resource staff to build capacity in the Matawa First Nations. He has worked with various age groups, and often focuses on youth programming to encourage youth to return to the land. Gord is very enthusiastic about the environmental work he does, and that enthusiasm is captured in the youth programming offered by Four Rivers Group. He is able to bring activities and resources to community children and to engage with their land and culture through the use of science and technology. Gord's approach to learning is fun, engaging and hands-on. He pulls themes from larger environmental projects and presents them at a level which is both inspiring and informative for children in the earliest stages of life.
