Paula Gallo manages Evergreen's Professional Learning for Educators and works collaboratively with schools, teachers and early childhood educators across Canada to explore fun, active and curriculum-connected approaches to engaging with students outside on school grounds. Her work is designed to enrich our understanding of how to create sustainable, inclusive and more participatory communities for children and young people. She has worked with UNICEF Canada and Save the Children Sweden, designing and delivering professional learning opportunities for educators across Canada and around the world. Prior to this, she worked in British Columbia as the Metro Vancouver Sustainability Education Coordinator, and was a secondary teacher in Scarborough for 10 years, taking her students outside on a regular basis to explore and connect with their communities. She is currently based in Toronto, goes for long walks in the Don Valley with her dog and her family, and loves to dig in her garden. The most recent addition to her household is a beehive!
