Sharon Nate is a member of Eabametoong First Nations and also Education Manager for the Matawa Education Department. Sharon's academic background includes Honours Bachelor of Education, Principal Certification, Native Teacher Education Diploma and Early Childhood Education. Sharon has experience in Management, Administration and Teaching bringing her extensive knowledge in policy and proposal development, practical literacy and mathematical literacy needs to our students at primary, secondary and post-secondary levels. Sharon has worked as a teacher and special education tutor at the primary level and was the Education Director for her home community for ten years. More recently, Sharon was employed at the Matawa Education Program as PASS Program Administrator and, since January 2015, she has been the Education Manager for the Matawa Education Department. Sharon's strong points and experience working at the planning level such as strategy development and modifying First Nations education programming is a must for today and the future of education for our Peoples. Sharon's passion for language is a strong asset to bring to our communities as language and culture is the main focus for the future education in our communities.
