Bernard Toliver, CMP, is President of Renaissance Meetings & Special Events, Inc., a meeting, event management and event marketing firm. In business for more than 25 years, the firm has worked with a number of America's leading corporations, associations, and non-profits, including, Aviation Week, Caudex, Center to Advance Palliative Care, National Urban League, Almanac Realty Investors, Verizon, Phillips & Jordan, American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) and The Lower East Side Film Festival (LESFF). Bernard is an adjunct at New York University's School of Professional Studies, Jonathan M. Tisch Center for Hospitality and Tourism Management, teaching courses in meetings and events management and event marketing. In 2013, Bernard was awarded a Teaching Excellence Award. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Greater New York Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPIGNY) and was named "Planner of the Year" for 2008-09. He has authored articles on Event Security for Security Director, the magazine of ASIS International/New York Chapter, and recently recorded a testimonial for NYC & Company, New York City's Destination Marketing Organization. He has conducted webinars on Exhibits and Sponsorship Management Programs, and actively participates in industry conferences and workshops. Bernard is a member of Dallas-based Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and the National Sports Marketing Network (NSMN).
