Honoring Anne Shane
Anne has been a steadfast and ardent advocate for Indianapolis’ vitality. She served as Executive Director of the Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee, campaign manager and Chief of Staff to Mayor Goldsmith, and Division Chair for the 2012 Super Bowl in Indianapolis. She has been instrumental in the creation of numerous solutions to persistent city and state problems, including BioCrossroads, a catalyst for $63 billion dollars of economic impact in the state.
Anne played a central role in Teach For America’s expansion to Indianapolis ten years ago, and she successfully served as our board chairwoman for our first several years—a period of record growth., Anne is a resolute champion of educational opportunity. She was appointed to the Indianapolis Charter School Board, served as Vice President of The Mind Trust and chaired the Ivy Tech State Board of Trustees. She currently serves on the advisory board of Stand For Children Indiana. Wherever she leads, Anne exudes three Hoosier, Indianapolis, and TFA values: excellence, results, and humility. We are thrilled to honor her for her remarkable contributions to our organization and our city.
