4. Prize
• The prize pool is of approximate value of NIS 48,000 ("Prizes"), and consists of the following:
1st Place Prize: up to three (3) flight tickets (coach class) to New York and a visit at the IBM Watson Labs in New-York, USA (all other expenses such as accommodation, meals, insurance, etc are excluded).
2nd Place Prize: up to three (3) cutting edge smartphones.
3rd Place Prize: up to three (3) cutting edge smartwatches.
• After the submission of a Project, the teams will have 4 minutes to present their solution on the second day of the Challenge, at the main stage of the Conference. Therefore, participants and the teams must attend the Conference in order to be granted with the Prize(s), otherwise the Prize(s) will be granted to the following rated team (by the judges), provided such team attends the Conference (and so on), or may be withdrawn, all per the sole discretion of the Organizer.
• The Organizer will get in touch with the winning teams via e-mail after the Challenge Period is over. Message may not be sent to the participants who did not win.
• Prizes will be distributed evenly amongst each winning team member identified as a team member on the time of Project submission (thus identified prior to the team’s Project presentation).
• At Organizer's discretion, the winning teams may be published at Designated Website as the winners of the Challenge.
• In case Organizer's collaborators (third party) decides to voluntarily sponsor and/or contribute additional giveaways and/or gifts and/or other prizes ("Additional Gestures"), such will be granted at the collaborator's own discretion and upon its own responsibility, and its terms and conditions, and the Organizer will not be liable in any case and reason, whatsoever, to such Additional Gestures.
• No message will be delivered to the participants and/or teams who did not win the Challenge.
• At Organizer's sole discretion, top rated teams may be presented at the IBM Business Connect, held on June 16, 2015.
• Organizer reserve the right, at its sole discretion and without any liability, at any time and for any reason whatsoever and without notice, to change, amend, cancel, suspend or modify the Challenge, or any part of it, including but not limited to the prizes, relevant times of the Challenge, especially in the event of that was not anticipated or is not within their control.
• If there is a dispute over the identity the team members, the Organizer may disqualify the team in dispute and/or suspend or withdraw the prize(s).
• At Organizer's sole discretion, prizes may be awarded to the winning team and/or participants through a third party, in order to manage, administrate and facilitate the operational side of the execution of granting the prizes.
5. Eligibility
• The Challenge is free and accessible to all potential contributors: developers, developers, UX/UI designers, data scientists, etc.
• The participants can be students, employees, freelance or in job search.
• The Challenge is open to every person who can prove he/she is not a minor at the participation date.
• By participating in the Challenge, each participant is expressly accepting the entire terms and conditions set herein.
• Employees, officers and directors of IBM, MobileMonday, the judge’s employers, participating advertising and promotion agencies, and those individuals and entities involved in the preparation of materials for, administration and/or execution of the Challenge (the "Hackathon Challenge Parties"), are not eligible to participate in the Challenge.
• Each participant represents and warrants that her/his programming activities during the Conference and any code or hardware s/he incorporates or modifies in any project developed during the Conference will not infringe the intellectual property or other proprietary rights of any third party.
• Employees and/or representatives of Government Owned Entities ("GOE") are not eligible to receive any of the prizes that will be given during or after the Challenge. In a case of a participant whom is such, he/she will be announced by the judges as one of the winners, weather as a team or as a team member; the team or the team member will not be granted with a prize.
For the avoidance of doubt, GOEs include but not limited to:
o Governmental bodies - national, state, local, municipal government - and any department, agency, public enterprise or instrumentality of a government
o State owned hospitals, schools, utilities, etc.
o Public international organizations (e.g., United Nations)
o State owned enterprises (whether wholly or partly owned)
o Private companies controlled by or under common control with any of the above
o Any entity subject to the applicable country’s public procurement laws and regulations.

BY PARTIAIPATING AT THE IBM WATSON HACKATHON JUNE 10-11 CHALLENGE, INCLUDING ENTERING SUBMISSIONS, YOU AND YOUR TEAM MEMBERS AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING OFFICIAL TERMS AND CODITIONS OF THE IBM WATSON HACKATHON CHALLENGE ("RULES").
1. Organizing Company
IBM ISRAEL LTD. (“IBM” or "Company"), a private company incorporated with limited liability, organized and existing under the laws of Israel, having its registered office at 94 Derech Em'Hamoshavot St., Petah-Tikva, Israel (hereinafter referred to as the "Organizer”), organizes a free challenge without any obligation whatsoever, named IBM WATSON HACKATHON JUNE 10-11 CHALLENGE (“Challenge”), which will be held at YES Planet Rishon Lezion, HaMea VeEsrim St., Rishon Letzion on June 10-11, 2015 ("Conference").
2. Challenge Period
The Challenge begins as of 12:01 A.M. (GMT + 3:00) on June 10, 2015 and will end no later than 04:30 P.M. (GMT + 3:00) on June 11, 2015 (“Challenge Period”). Should there be a change to Challenge ending time, it will be announced by the Organizer, at the Conference.
3. Challenge
• The goal of this Challenge is to tackle some of the most complex cognitive computing problems out there.
• Form teams and compete to build out applications powered by IBM Watson and AlchemyAPI ("Projects"). The best teams get a piece of approximate NIS 48,000 worth value prize pool.
• All projects must use at least one IBM Watson Developer Cloud service or AlchemyAPI service as a component of its functionality.
• Team size consistes of 1-3 participants (thus not more than 3 participants in a team). Teams can include any combination of participants (developers, UX/UI designers, data scientists, etc.).
• The Conference details are posted on the following designated website at https://events.bizzabo.com/watsonhack/home ("Designated Website") as of 12:01 A.M. (GMT + 3:00) on JUNE 10, 2015, and the Challenge itself will be presented and further detailed by the Organizer at the Conference.
• The Challenge: Each team should build a working application powered by IBMWatson and/or AlchemyAPI cloud services. The Challenge's judging criterias will include the following:
o Idea creativity
o Applicable Business Model
o Content Definition/Accessibility
o Presentation standard
o Application readiness
o Use of IBM Cloud services
• The use of non-Bluemix resources or services should be approved by the Organizer (for example: using DB services out of Bluemix).
• All Projects to be entered into the Challenge are to be started at the beginning of the Challenge Period. No existing projects, applications, or business ventures may be entered.
• All Projects must be submitted by the end of Challenge Period. Once ended, no Projects can be entered for presentation or judging, and no changes or alterations will be allowed. The submission process and the submission dead-line will be detailed and further explained by the Organizer at the begining of the first day of Conference.
• A panel of judges will decide on the winning teams, and such judges decisions are final and may not be appealed.
• A team entering the Challenge, must appoint and authorize one individual (the “Representative”) to represent, act, and submit the Project, on their behalf. All participants (thus including all team members) must meet the eligibility requirements for the Challenge. By submission a Project on behalf of a team, you Representative represent and warrant that he/she is the Representative authorized to act on behalf of his/her team.
• Each participant is limited to one Project submission (whether submits as part of team or not).
6. Registration
To participate in the Challenge, participants must register to the Conference on the Conference Designated Website prior to start of the Conference at https://events.bizzabo.com/watsonhack/home
7. Personal Data
Personal data of participants who have participated in the Challenge are treated by the Organizer according to the local Israeli law.
By participating in the Challenge participant agrees that Organizer, its subsidiaries, affiliates and and/or whom on its behalf and may use the participant's personal information submitted by the team and/or the participant. Such personal information includes, but is not limited to, name, photograph, voice, age, opinions, comments and hometown and country of residence. Such personal information may be used in any existing or newly created media for any promotional purposes, without any payment or consideration or right to review, unless prohibited by law. The duration of your consent is for a period of four years following the end of the Challenge.
8. Acceptance of the Rules
The participation to this Challenge implies a whole acceptance, without reservation of the Rules set herein and its amendments, if any. In case of force majeure or similar events or any other circumstances at Organizer sole discretion, the Organizer will be fully entitled, without any liability, to postpone, to shorten, to extend, or to cancel this Challenge without any liability. Participants waive any right to any claim or demand for compensation in such a case.
The Organizer is fully entitled to modify the Rules set herein at any time under the shape of an amendment, in the respect for the expressed conditions, and published by online announcement on the designated website.
9. Limitation of Liability and Jurisdiction
The Organizer will not be held liable in any case of litigation with companies responsible for the offered prizes. The Rules are subjected to the Israeli law without taking choice of laws rules into effect. In any case of claim, the parties will attempt to settle their litigation amicably. Any claim relative to the Challenge or to its Rules will have to reach the Organizer by letter within one month from the end of the Challenge Period. Any litigation arising by reason of or in connection with the Challenge and that could not be amicably settled, will submit the litigation to the competent courts of Tel-Aviv-Jaffa. The headings of the various sections herein have been inserted for convenience of reference only and shall not be used to construe meaning or intent.
The Organizer and its subsidiaries, affiliates and promotional agencies, and their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents, are not responsible for loss, damage, illegible, incomplete or incorrect submissions, and shall have no liability for any damage, loss or liability to any person or property due, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, to the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize or to participation in this Challenge. As a condition of entering this Challenge, participant agrees that under no circumstances will participant be entitled to any awards for any losses or damages, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, consequential and any other damages, and waives any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.
The Organizer reserves the right to cancel or suspend this Challenge should it determine, at its sole discretion, that the administration, security or fairness of this Challenge has been compromised in any way.
10. Other
Participants do not transfer ownership of their Projects or any part of it to the Organizer. However, by submitting a Project, each participant and team grants the Organizer an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide rights and license to: (a) use, review, assess, test, and otherwise analyze their Project and all its content in connection with the Challenge; and (b) feature their Project and all its content for promotional purposes (including, but not limited to, in advertisements, press releases, presentations, and trade shows) in all media, now known or later developed. Participants also agree to sign any necessary documentation that may be required for Organizer and its designees to make use of the rights granted.
Fraud or the attempt of fraud by a participant or a team will be sanctioned by the formal and definitive disqualified from the Challenge. In such a case, the Organizer is fully entitled to not attribute prize(s) to the fraudulent and/or its whole team as well as fully entitled to all its rights according to local Law. The Organizer could not incur the responsibility of any committed fraud by a participant and/or a participating team.
The Organizer is fully entitled to proceed to all the necessary verifications concerning the identity of the participants. Any false statement entails automatically the elimination of the participant and its team.
Organizer reserve the right, at its sole discretion and without any liability, at any time and for any reason whatsoever, to change, amend, cancel, suspend or modify the Challenge, or any part of it, including but not limited to the prizes, especially in the event of that was not anticipated or is not within their control.
If there is any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Rules or other statements contained in any Challenge materials, including but not limited to the Designated Website, the Rules set herein shall prevail.
