Energy Efficiency: How to Get to Net Zero at a Time of Crisis

    29 June, 11:00 BST

    ABOUT THE EVENT

As the world grapples with the biggest energy crisis since the 1970s, pressure has increased on business and government leaders to put in place measures to reduce energy use and costs, while driving progress towards climate goals. Emiliya Mychasuk, the FT’s climate editor will discuss the challenges and ways forward with two experts who have key roles in shaping the energy future. The IEA's chief energy modeller Laura Cozzi is in charge of all the agency’s work on outlooks and forecasts, including the analysis of long-term energy demand, efficiency, power generation, renewables and environmental analysis for the flagship World Energy Outlook report and other publications. Salesforce EVP & Chief Impact Officer Suzanne DiBianca leads the company’s ESG strategy, focusing on climate action and investing through the ventures impact fund in next-generation cloud companies. Salesforce is examining all its practices and infrastructure to tackle absolute emissions after these rose last year due to its growth.

    ABOUT CLIMATE CAPITAL COUNCIL

The FT’s New Agenda is driving the company’s overall mission to produce informative, actionable content related to climate change, and the mission of the FT Climate Capital Hub extends to the aim of bringing organisations together to share experiences and ideas.

The FT Climate Capital Council is a new FT Forum where relevant FT readers, business leaders, academics, NGOs and policymakers can gather together through a series of regular events to discuss the responsibilities, challenges and aspirations businesses, governments, institutions and societies face in dealing with climate change. It also offers a space for businesses to share and collaborate over practical solutions.

After each event the Council will produce post event reports highlighting the key actionable take-outs for businesses to consider. As the Council develops it will look to developing new reports, resources and tools to help the community respond to the challenges of climate change.
