Join Verizon on August 11, 2025, as we launch our new smart flood sensors in Chicago in partnership with tech start-up Hyfi and the Center for Neighborhood Technology. Through the Verizon Community Disaster Resilience Flood Sensor Initiative, we’re providing communities throughout Chicago with the tools they need to better prepare for and recover from floods. Leveraging Verizon's reliable network, next-gen technologies like Hyfi’s flood sensors deliver realtime insights to municipalities and residents, helping them better protect communities during storms. Flooding threatens critical infrastructure, puts lives and health at risk, and costs Chicago millions each year. This launch marks a major step forward in protecting the city’s most vulnerable areas through innovative technology.
