Amidst massive changes in the social and political forces that shape our communities, municipal governments are embracing projects that reflect the needs and priorities of local experts: the people who live there. What examples can we draw on from local contexts to build community-centered places that are reflective of and responsive to local needs? What actors in the urban ecosystem are helping to facilitate participation and how can we ensure that all residents, particularly those not traditionally involved in decision-making processes, are able to be agents of change in their communities?
