- How do I register?
You can register for a ticket here. Follow the prompts and complete your profile details. Please provide the correct email address to receive relevant notifications. To ensure multi-sectoral conversations, please note that NewCities is offering free admission to professionals from the public, academic, and non-profit sectors.
- What happens after I register?
After completing registration, you should receive an email confirmation. If you do not receive it within 5 minutes, check your spam folder. Make sure to save this confirmation for future reference.
- How do I log in to the event platform?
You’ll know if you are logged into Bizzabo if you see a little avatar icon in the top right. The platform will also prompt you to login in order to view sessions, network, and more!
To log in, you will need your email address that you registered with. If you log in only with your email, you will receive an email with a magic link that automatically logs you in.
Otherwise, if you have your ticket number handy, you can type it in and you’ll be logged in directly. You can find your ticket number from your confirmation email.
- I’ve registered, received my email confirmation, and am logged into Bizzabo. Now what?
Great! We’re excited to welcome you to the Wellbeing Cities Forum! We’ll be sending email notifications for relevant details and updates, so keep an eye out! Otherwise, you can add the event to your calendar, explore the agenda to save what sessions you’re interested in, and network with other attendees!
- How can I learn more about the Wellbeing Cities Forum and NewCities?
Click the “Home” tab in the navigation bar. There’s lots of information there to read more about the Wellbeing Cities Program!
- How can I learn more about a speaker?
Click the “Speakers” tab in the navigation bar. You can browse through the different speakers and click on their profile to learn more about them. You’ll find their bios, social media, and sessions. Excited to see a particular speaker? Give them a like!
- How can I network with other attendees?
Click the “Network” tab in the navigation bar. That will bring you to the networking platform.
- How can I learn more about your partners?
Click the “Partners” tab in the navigation bar. Here, you will see a list of all of our amazing partners. Click on their logo to learn more and visit their website!
- How do I set up my Bizzabo profile?
To make the most of your Bizzabo experience, make sure to set up your Bizzabo profile. This way, other attendees can get to know you better and networking will be a breeze!
Log into the Bizzabo platform. In the top right corner, click your avatar and in the drop down menu, click “Edit Profile”. Don’t forget to hit save once you’re done!
How can I network at Wellbeing Cities Forum?
Bizzabo has created a networking platform where you can explore who else is attending and send messages to each other. The networking platform is active before and after the event, so you can make lasting connections! Check it out here!
How do I use the networking platform?
Click on “Network” in the navigation bar. You can now scroll through attendees, or search by name, company, job title, and more!
You can star attendees you wish to save, see who has viewed your profile, look at your connections, and send messages!
How do I send a direct message to another attendee?
Search for an attendee, click their profile, and click “send message”. The recipient will receive an email notification, as well as a red dot next to their inbox icon in the navigation bar letting them know they have a message waiting for them.
How do I check my networking inbox?
- How do I search for and save sessions I’m interested in?
You can search for sessions by title, by speaker and by day. Save sessions you’re interested in by clicking the star next to the session name. Your saved sessions will appear in “My Interests”. You can also add sessions to your calendar so you don’t miss anything!
- How do I know what time sessions are live if I am tuning in from a different timezone?
- If you are joining us from a different timezone, no need to pull out a world clock! Next to the event timezone (Eastern Daylight Time), you will see "Your local time" and the time the session will begin in your local timezone. The example below shows the event timezone (8:00 AM - 10:00 AM EDT), and then the user's local timezone (5:00 AM - 7:00 AM Your local time).
- How can I join a session?
During the event, live sessions will appear at the top in a “Live Now” banner.
On the program page, select the session you wish to view and click the “Join Broadcast” button. This will bring you to the session stage. If needed, further click the "Join Now" button at the top left to join a translated session.
Please note that sessions will be live 2 minutes before the scheduled start time, but the session will begin at the scheduled time.
After a session has ended, if available, the recording should appear by the end of the day. You can watch the recording by clicking “Watch Recording” for the session you would like to view.
- How can I chat and ask questions in a session?
Most sessions will include a time for Q&A at the end. To ask a question, you can post in the chat or in the Q&A section of the session stage. You can use the chat area to engage with your fellow attendees.
- Which sessions are translated?
- All sessions except the workshops, Lunch: Ask Me Anything with Donald Shoup, and Presentation: The Housing Supply Challenge will be available in both French and English.
- The Announcement: Laureates of the 2020 Wellbeing Cities Award + Panel: The 2020 Wellbeing Cities will be available in English, French, and Spanish.
- How do I watch the translated session?
- To watch the translated session, you will need the Zoom app. Please ensure you have the Zoom app downloaded on your computer or phone.
- Once you have Zoom installed, click on the session's "Join Now" button and you will be redirected to the Zoom app.
- Or, you can navigate to the session stage by clicking on the session title. In the top left hand corner, there will be a “Join Broadcast” button which will open up the Zoom app.
- You will be redirected to the Zoom launching site where a pop up will prompt you to open the Zoom app. If there is no pop up, you can click on "launch meeting".
- Once the Zoom app is opened and you have successfully joined the session, you will see the option for your language in the bottom right hand corner. Click the language of choice as well as "Mute Original Audio" for the clearest listening.

- How do I participate in a networking session?
When you enter the session, you will be prompted to turn on your camera and microphone--so make sure you are camera ready before entering! After that, you can participate in the networking session. Please make sure to mute yourself when you are not speaking.
- I loved a specific session! How can I provide some feedback?
We’re glad you enjoyed a session! You can rate sessions and provide feedback by clicking on the session title. From there, click on “Rate Session” and give it some love. You can provide further feedback as well.

What are the system requirements to join a session?
Windows 7 and above, running Chrome, Firefox or Edge. Internet Explorer is not supported
MacOS 10.9 or later, running Chrome and Firefox. Safari not supported
iPhone 5S or later, running iOS 11 and up
Android 4.0 or later, running Chrome
A good internet connection. We also suggest closing additional tabs if you are experiencing delays, as this will free up memory space on your computer.
Please note, additional devices may successfully connect, but are not officially supported.
The sound is coming out of a different device than I want - what can I do?
To toggle between multiple outputs connected to your device (e.g. internal speakers, headphones and AirPlay), click the gear icon on the top right of the live-streamed session. You will then be able to select which output and input devices should be used.
The output device I want to use isn't showing up - how can I fix this?
First, check the physical connection to your device, by either unplugging and re-connecting your physical headphones, or toggling bluetooth on and off.
If you are confident that the output device is connected correctly, check your system preferences to ensure your computer recognizes the device. On a Windows device, click the loudspeaker icon on the bottom right of your screen, and you'll be able to change output device. On a Mac, visit System Preferences > Sound to choose your output devices.
My devices are connected properly, but I can't hear anything!
If you're confident everything is connected properly, your devices might be being used by another tool or application. Make sure tools like Zoom, Google Hangouts, Go To Meeting etc. have been closed prior to starting the session.
I'm still experiencing issues - any final steps?
If you're still having issues, first send in your support logs by hitting the in the top right, then "submit support logs" on the bottom left. Next try restarting your computer and trying again.

Missing face-to-face networking? We do too. That’s why in some of our sessions, you will have the opportunity to video chat with one another, and if you’re camera shy, Bizzabo’s Community function allows you to browse through other attendees and send them messages.
Please use the messaging services appropriately. We do not tolerate any abuse and will restrict access without refunds to any type of harassment directed at other attendees. If you are having any issues concerning another attendee, please do not hesitate to contact us at events@newcities.org.
