- Event is rain or shine; be prepared with appropriate apparel for inclement weather.
- Class II safety shirts or vests and steel-toed shoes are required for all SPOT participants.
- A truck and trainer (experienced operator) is required for every 3 new operator trainees.
- Each agency is responsible for bringing their own truck(s) and having 1 experienced operator for every 3 new operator trainees.
- Trainees and trainer must register.
- Example: Agency has 6 new operators going to SPOT; they would need 2 trucks and 2 trainers, for a total of 8 registered attendees.
Snow Plow Operator Training
The Snow Plow Operator Training (SPOT) is a two-day training session designed for newer operators that includes both classroom and hands-on sessions, with topics ranging from pre-trip inspections to vehicle defect identification. A skills/road test is also included.
